A man is dead after being hit by a Metra train that was traveling on the southernmost tracks at Forest Avenue. According to police, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.  Witnesses reported having seen the man walk across the crossing gates while they were down.  This is the second reported pedestrian accident reported at the west suburban line within 24 hours.
