We obtained a $1,000,000 insurance policy limits settlement for our client, a 50 year old

woman.  She was standing on the landing of a second floor at the top of an outdoor staircase

leading from alley to the second floor deck of the home she rented.  Unfortunately, the

second floor wood landing collapsed, causing our client to fall two stories to the ground. 

She suffered serious fractures to her leg, resulting in surgery.  She was unable to return to her

job.  We were able to prove the landlord was aware of the dangerous condition of the wood staircase

and landing and failed to do the necessary repairs.
